Be Recruitment are a recruiting for 4 female complex behavioural support workers in the Lake Macquarie Area  

Participants within these services will have a high needs disability or severe and persistent mental illness and have complex behaviours associates with their diagnosis. Support will be provided in a residential setting with a single participant. 
As a Complex Behavioural Support Worker, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of different mental health diagnosis and disabilities. You will also have experience supporting participants who show complex and challenging behaviour and be confident in responding to behaviours in a calm and professional manner and in line with behaviour support plans. 
Your tasks may include but not be limited to the following:
  • Behavioural management (physical and verbal aggression, property damage, absconding and sexualised behaviours)
  • Work in a recovery-focused way 
  • Personal care
  • Coordinate and implement social outings
  • Day to day living support
  • Complete detailed shift notes and incident reports.
Essential requirements for this role include:
  • A proven track record working with people who show complex and challenging behaviours
  • A strong understanding of ASD and how best to manage this
  • Experience working with clients who are non-verbal
  • Experience working with vulnerable people in a residential setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of different types of diagnosis
  • Proven ability to work as a part of a close-knit team
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Commitment to best practice 
Qualifications and checks
  • Female (This position has a genuine occupational qualification requirement due to the requirement to provide intimate and personal care to female participants)
  • Minimum Cert III qualification 
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training (or equivalent)
  • Full NSW Drivers License 
  • NDIS Worker Check
  • WWCC
  • First Aid - Less than 3 years old
  • CPR less than 12 months old 
  • Mental Health First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain after a successful interview
  • Willingness to undergo a police check
