Join our fantastic team of Mental Health Support Workers in Newcastle

As a Support Worker, you will provide the support and encouragement for individuals to build their skills to live independently and make their own lifestyle choices. Your support will result in them leading meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Essential requirements for this role include:
  • At least 6 months paid experience in a similar role
  • Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support etc
  • An understanding of restrictive practice 
  • Experience administering medication
  • Experience providing personal care
  • Proven ability to work as a part of a close-knit team
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
Desirable Experience / Training
  • Experience driving a people mover/minibus
  • Training and experience in PEG feeding 
  • Medication Administration 
  • Manual Handling Training 
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention / Behaviour Management Training
Mandatory Checks and licenses
  • NDIS Worker Check 
  • Working With Children Check
  • First aid & CPR certificates
  • Full NSW Drivers License 
  • Two professional references
  • Vaccinated against COVID 19 including booster
