Be Recruitment is seeking passionate and skilled Therapeutic Youth Workers to join a dedicated team delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people with complex needs.
This role is within a residential care setting and requires candidates to hold a minimum Cert IV qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field - this is non-negotiable.
About the Role
As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, and neglect. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Provide consistent therapeutic care, grounded in trauma-informed practice
- Model positive, pro-social behaviours to help young people develop healthy relationships and life skills
- Create a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment
- Support young people in understanding and managing trauma-related behaviours
- Encourage engagement in educational, recreational, and community activities
- Assist with daily routines including personal care, meals, school attendance, and appointments
- Maintain accurate records and incident reports in line with organisational procedures
- Cert IV or higher in Community Services, Youth Work or similar - mandatory
- Minimum six months of paid experience working as a Therapeutic Youth Worker - mandatory
- International Police Check if you have lived overseas for more than 12 months - mandatory
- Full NSW Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption
- Foundational Elements of Therapeutic Care Training
- Joint Protocol Training for Residential Workers
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including days, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
